The SPCA Certified (formerly Blue Tick) programme is an accredited scheme run by SPCA New Zealand that certifies products have come from businesses that have met their high animal welfare standards. They use independent auditors to conduct yearly announced (and unannounced) audits and issue an SPCA Certified Certificate of Approval when standards are met or exceeded, so that businesses (and SPCA Certified producers) can be certain that high animal welfare standards are being maintained.
Our family business (under the former name, Benniks Poultry Farms Ltd) was one of the first in the barn egg farming sector to be RNZSPCA Approved back in 1999 (before the accreditation was rebranded SPCA Blue Tick® in 2001).
